Assigned to help establish humanity's first colonies on Vulcan and Romulus. Developed a deep friendship with Colonel Butterworth, convincing the colonel to become a replicant upon his death. Also developed romantic feelings for the colonies' zoologist, Bridget Brodeur, and left to explore distant worlds when she married. Many years later, after her husband's death, he "returned" by remotely piloting a humanoid avatar known as a manny, so called because the early models had resembled department-store mannequins with no hair, pale plastic-texture skin, and gray, staring eyes. Upon her death Bridgette agreed to become a replicant, a decision her children from her first marriage fought. She and Howard married and together, the two of them study the universe's plants and animals.
