Ragnarök is the second planet of the Epsilon Eridani system, orbiting at 0.85au. It is a rocky planet located in the star’s habitable zone.
Discovery[]
It was first explored by Bob in 2144.
Characteristics[]
It is 90% the size of Earth, with more land than water. Its atmosphere contains 3% oxygen. It is bare and rocky, with no green or other signs of life. It has several seas, all separated by land.
Satellites[]
It has one small moon, about 500 km in diameter, which orbits close enough to cause tidal movements in the planet’s inland seas.
Native Life[]
There is no native life, although it has all of the elements to sustain life, including water and a thin atmosphere.
Colonization[]
It is not a candidate for colonization. Instead, Bill used it as a testing ground for his Skunk Works experiments in terraforming, which involved moving large ice chunks from the asteroid belt and skipping them off the upper atmosphere, then blowing them up so that their fragments would melt upon reentry and fall as rain.

Events[]
All These Worlds[]
By the mid-2200’s, Bill’s terraforming efforts are showing results. The inland seas are starting to connect and form oceans, due to the added water from years of ice rock bombardments. The atmosphere contains more oxygen, and transplanted Earth plant life — conifers, grasses, and a moss/lichen hybrid — are turning the land green. There are even some animals such as insects.
Not Till We Are Lost[]
After 200 years of terraforming by Bill, it is habitable, with a breathable and humid atmosphere. Most of the planet is forested, and about 80% of the flora and fauna from the Svalbard vault has been restored. Bill continues introducing carnivores such as wolves and works to find predator/prey equilibrium in the animal populations.
Bill creates a charter for the planet, establishing it as an interstellar park and nature preserve, with no colonization or exploitation allowed.
