Characteristics[]
Vulcan is an Earthlike planet with land masses, oceans, clouds, and an oxygen-rich atmosphere.
Native Life[]
Life on Vulcan appears to share a common source with life on its sister planet, Romulus.
Plants included trees that had wood-like trunks, as well as branches and leaves. Animal life included dinosaur-like life forms, including the large and harmless Brontos, and the sentient and predatory Raptors. There are also hummingbird-sized Cupid Bugs, which are parasites that lay eggs under a host organism's skin. The larvae that hatch will burrow into the victim's heart within two days, resulting in death for the host.
Colonization[]
The first settlement was established by the Exodus 1 colony ship, carrying survivors from the USE enclave on Earth. USE's first settlement was called Landing and established in December 2188, in Book 2 Chapter 5.

Around 2200, there is a popular uprising to unseat the theocracy. It is suggested that the uprising came about as a result of government scandals and the government’s refusal to allow the free importation of alcohol. The new government is a democracy with full separation of church and state. There is no indication that Dexter, the Bob in Residence in the system at the time, had participated in any way.
Not Till We Are Lost[]
Vulcan is no longer a frontier planet. It now has floating cities like New Landing. Cupid bugs had been nearly exterminated, and rabbits are an invasive species.
